Has anyone tried the experimental builds that incorporate Blender Agx technology that are causing so much excitement over on the darktable website? Some of the screenshots using it do look pretty good.

I have followed the discussion, but I have not tried it. Why do you think the darktable users are so enthusiastic? Prior to the AgX POC, I did not notice a demand or a need for a new tone mapper (a point made by the principal developer).
